One step closer to sustainability

One step closer to sustainability

At greenchef, we are always striving to be more environmentally friendly when we manufacture and supply. In 2020, one of greenchef's resolution is to work towards eco-friendly packaging from the packing to delivery process.

Packaging has always been an issue for apparel company, from packaging your garments into bags and mailing of garments to different region in the world. On average, there are at least 2 plastics is being used during the packing and delivery process.

Did you know?

"About one trillion single-use plastic bags are used annually across the globe. That's nearly 2 million every minute." -EarthDay

Our process is not perfect yet, but we are proud to say that we are working on it. And we will find a solution for it. Eco-friendly materials are often more costly to produce than plastics due to its process of manufacturing. We strongly believe that this cost that we are incurring is worth it as long as we are able to reduce our carbon footprint whilst getting our goods well packed for our customers.

Earth = Customers = GreenChef

We are happy to announce that our 100% compostable mailer will be used from Feburary 2020 onward, from the Singapore's office and warehouse. The mailer can be composted both at home and commercially.

The mailers are supplied by the awesome company: noissue.

"The compostable mailers are made from a combination of PBAT, a bio based polymer which is compostable, and PLA which is made up of plant materials such as regular field corn and wheat straw. Our use of PLA makes up barely 0.05% of the annual global corn crop, making it an incredibly low-impact resource. Read on for further certifications and information.

The bags are certified by TUV Austria; meeting American, European, International and Australian standards – including certifications for your domestic home compost. To gain these certifications, the product must break down within 90 days in commercial compost and 180 days in domestic compost conditions, including worm farm compost. After degradation, they must leave no harmful residues behind."
